St. Mark’s Pet Food Pantry is accepting monetary and food donations as the need to help those in the community increases around the holiday season.

Since January, the group has given out 9,234 pounds of dry dog food and 12,762 pounds of dry cat food, and has assisted 140 to 150 families each month.

In October, the pantry helped to feed 196 dogs, 34 puppies, 610 cats and 114 kittens, as well as giving extra food to people to feed feral cats.

Monetary donations can be sent to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 335 Locust St., Johnstown, Pa. 15901, and pet food can be sent by Chewey or dropped off at the church from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

Pet food distribution dates include Nov. 6 and 7 and Dec. 4 and 5 at the church.
